Junior Golf Queensland (JGQ)

JGQ has been established by Golf Australia to provide the sport of junior golf with a more coordinated and structured approach to junior development and participation across the state. JGQ runs the Points Challenge Series which is open to junior players who are a paid member of a district club and a financial member of JGQ (click the link above).

Ionna Muir (Maroochy River) - Katherine Kirk Champion 2022

Our District has a priority to grow the number of junior girls playing golf in the region. Current activities are to:

  • fund and guide the Junior Development Squad, involving about 10 girls aged between 9 and 14 who have already shown potential in the sport
  • maintain ongoing communication with parents about upcoming junior events that might be suitable for their daughters
  • identify additional opportunities for junior girls that will extend their golf skills and knowledge
  • select two inter-district teams each year, one the Junior Jug of 3 girls, the other the Sarah Jane Kenyon Challenge of 8 girls (both are match play tournaments)
