Kookaburra Karnival

2025 Wrap-up

More than 150 players took part the 2025 Kookaburra Karnival hosted by Maroochy River Golf Club. Festivities began on Sunday night with Registration, Putting for Verve, drinks & nibbles, and would have continued much longer but for the fact that most of us were tee-ing off at 7:30am the next day!

Monday 24th Nov - 4BBB in the morning and Single Stroke in the afternoon. We were not so lucky with the weather, play had to be abandoned after 9 holes in the afternoon as the storms & cyclonic winds rolled in, rendering the course unplayable. We spent most of the afternoon in the clubhouse, drinking and catching up with old and new friends...

Tuesday 25th Nov - Foursomes in the morning and 4-person Ambrose in the afternoon. We were very lucky that the rain stayed away and we were able to play both rounds! The points system used throughout the competition meant that reward was given for both Nett and Gross scores, so the lead kept changing right to the last event - see the detailed scores below! The top-3 team spots were won by The Predator Pack (Indooroopilly GC); Fairway Flyers (Maroochy River) & Lelenama (Monto). Prizes were given out during a celebratory party at Maroochy River, with Nibble platters to go with the end-of-game drinks.
